Rubber Floor Covering

RUBBER FLOORING

How is the Application of Rubber Tile Flooring Done?

Before applying rubber tiles to the floor, the concrete surface must be flat. The floor should be free from dust, moisture, various chemicals, and foreign substances. Weather conditions are also crucial, and there should be no precipitation during the application.

After preparing the floor, it is advisable to apply a primer to the concrete. The polyurethane-based Saras Rubbermax adhesive (rubber glue) is applied to the floor using an industrial trowel. After spreading the adhesive to the appropriate consumption with the help of a trowel, rubber tiles are glued to the floor. It is recommended to place some weight on the tiles for a short period to maximize strength.

Can Rubber Tiles be Adhered to Soil Surfaces?

It is not possible to adhere rubber tiles to soil surfaces. Therefore, the tiles are placed on the ground without adhesive. However, this application will be a short-term solution as it can be easily affected by external factors.

Since rubber tiles cannot be adhered to the soil surface, they will be highly susceptible to wind, rain, and other deformative factors. Considering these reasons, the application of rubber tiles to soil surfaces is not suitable.

Can Rubber Tiles be Applied to Sloped or Uneven Concrete Surfaces?

As long as the surface is concrete, tiles can be adhered to the floor. However, a sloped or uneven surface may lead to deformation and problems with floor evenness over time. In sloped surfaces, it is generally preferable to use cast (in-place application) system products. This involves adhering granules with rubber binder in the application area, and it is applied by pouring.

Is Rubber Tile Application Suitable for Indoor Areas?

Rubber tiles can be preferred in all indoor areas that require flexibility. They can be applied in spaces such as sports halls, offices, and nurseries. When applying in indoor spaces, it is beneficial to ventilate the area during and after the application.

Can Rubber Tiles be Used for Sports Hall Flooring?

Rubber tiles are frequently chosen for sports hall flooring, requiring flexibility indoors, to minimize the risk of injuries for athletes due to their shock-absorbing properties. They prevent damage to the floor by cutting the direct contact of sports equipment with the surface.

Is Rubber Tile Application Suitable for Pool Edges?

The application of rubber tiles is suitable for pool edges. Due to their porous structure, they are slip-resistant and provide traction when in contact with water, thus preventing injuries.

What is the Average Lifespan of Rubber Tile Floors?

The lifespan of rubber tiles is influenced by the use of SBR or EPDM granules in their production. Additionally, the quality of rubber granules during production and the quality of the rubber adhesive used during application also affect this period. Under normal conditions, rubber tiles can be comfortably used for 15-20 years. However, this period is influenced by usage intensity and exposure to external factors.
