Tartan Floor Covering
What is Tartan Flooring?
Tartan flooring or tartan track coverings are flexible, absorbent, and have a suspension feature with high resistance to wear in the desired color and pattern. Due to its softness and facilitation of movement, its usage has become widespread in recent years.
Tartan flooring is commonly used in outdoor spaces such as sports areas, as well as walkways and running tracks built by municipalities. Tartan flooring is also used in indoor and outdoor tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, athletics tracks, and all outdoor sports field surfaces. With its aesthetically pleasing appearance and durability, tartan flooring is a preferred choice.
Areas of Use for Tartan Flooring
Tartan flooring is applied in outdoor and indoor children's play areas, multi-purpose sports areas, jogging tracks, athletics, and fitness studios, as well as bicycle paths, traffic training tracks, running and walking paths. Additionally, it is preferred in nursing homes, children's hospitals, baby rooms, care homes, rehabilitation centers, classrooms, play areas, walking paths, shooting ranges, school yards, garage entrances, parking lots, terraces, and balconies.
How is Tartan Flooring Applied?
It has a flat surface structure with no protrusions that could cause tripping or falling. After determining the characteristics such as thickness, color, and pattern of tartan flooring, the ground preparation is the first step. After creating a smooth surface, the adhesive material is applied to the concrete surface with a marley comb at approximately 0.45 kg per square meter, and the covering process is carried out by laying it on top. The adhesive application and covering process can be applied in rows of 5-7 meters. In the case of using egg-shaped rubber underneath, without the use of adhesive, it is directly applied by drawing a thin mortar on a compressed and leveled soil surface.
